Bag Filter is a sludge dewatering equipment. Since the sludge consists of mostly water, it is necessary to remove the water so that the sludge can be transported more easily and inexpensively. The excess sludge formed in the biological treatment is collected during the sedimentation phase of a batch reactor before the discharge phase and a small part of the sludge is conveyed to the bag filter with the help of a sludge pump. Polyelectrolyte is dosed into the sludge line with static mixers for easy release of the water prior to entering the bag filter chambers.

The transmitted sludge and polyelectrolyte mixture is filtered in bags, and the permeate water is returned to the existing equalization basin by a transfer pump or gravity where applicable. The dry sludge in the bag filters is then removed from the facility for disposal.
