Wastewater Treatment for Leather Tannery Company

Leather industry is one of the major pollutant industry and large volumes of wastewater is produced as a result of leather industry. This industrial wastewater contains high amounts of organic and inorganic pollutants, soluble proteins, blood, hairs, leather fragments, tissue pieces, oil and grease, suspended
solids, solvents, color pigments, polishing polymers and ammonium, chrome compounds.

Since leather industry wastewater contains high concentration of pollutants, the design of the wastewater treatment plant becomes more complex and important. Basically physical, chemical and biological treatment methods can be used in leather industrial wastewater treatment plant.

Physical treatment methods; screening, primary sedimentation and equalization are used in order to remove hair, leather fragments and suspended solids.

Chemical treatment methods such as chemical precipitation and sulphur oxidation are used to remove toxic materials, chrome and sulphur. Extended aeration activated sludge process, up flow anaerobic sludge blanket process, sequence batch activated carbon process, oxidation ditch, combination of aerobic and anaerobic treatment are the most often used biological treatment methods which are used to remove organic pollutants, BOD (biological oxygen demand), COD (chemical oxygen demand) and suspended solids.

EGESIS Environmental Technologies Inc. has years of experience of wastewater treatment plant construction and planning in leather industry. Check out our references, projects of wastewater treatment plant for leather companies.

Leather and Machinery Wastewater Treatment Plant Project (DMK Russia)

Wastewater treatment plant designed and constructed by us in Russia for DMK Leather manufacturer company has started operating.

400 m3 daily wastewater treatment capacity, wastewater treatment plant is constructed and operational. The wastewater equipment made in Turkey and installed in the most suitable area inside the leather factory. The training of Russian personel and management of wastewater treatment plant is provided by our engineers at site, in Russia.
