Automotive Industry

In automotive industry, water is used for washing, surface treatment, coating, rinsing, paint spray booths, hosing, cooling air conditioning systems and boilers and all these processes produce large amount of wastewater. There are strict regulations for automotive industry wastewater since it is highly polluted with fats, oil, grease, hydrocarbons, flammable liquids, suspended solids, coolant and radiator fluids, heavy metals, organic and inorganic pollutants.

The wastewater has to be processed and treated with proper industrial wastewater treatment plant to comply with these regulations and also to prevent any damage of environment. After pre-treatment and primary treatment, secondary treatment is applied. Secondary treatment consist biological process to remove suspended and dissolved biological matter. Biological processes can be aerobic or anaerobic depending of the characteristics of wastewater. After these all, applying tertiary treatment is very important since treated wastewater is disinfected with UV light, chlorine or ozone. It also provides removal of residual suspended solids before discharge.
