Fishery and Fish Farm Company Wastewater Treatment Plant

Fishery industry wastewater contains a substantial amount of contaminants in soluble, colloidal and particulate forms. Since the degree of contamination depends on the process, sample analysis is very important for designing a proper industrial wastewater treatment plant.

Mostly, fishery industry wastewater contains high biological oxygen demand (BOD), chemical oxygen demand (COD), fats, oil, grease, suspended solids and also nutrients such as nitrogen and phosphate. High temperature and unpleasant odor are also issues. Blood, offal products, viscera, fins, fish heads, skins and shells are the major types of waste found in fishery industry wastewater. In order to prevent any damage to environment and human health and meet discharge criteria, this wastewater need to be treated.

Primary treatment deals with removal of colloidal materials, large screenable and settable solids and suspended solids. Flow equalization, screening, sedimentation, pH adjustment, flocculation and floatation are the primary treatment methods. After the primary treatment, secondary treatment is
conducted for remaining organic pollutants. The aim of biological wastewater treatment is to remove the non-settling solids and dissolved organic load by using microbial population. These microorganisms are responsible for the degradation of organic matter and the stabilization of organic
wastes. They can be classified into aerobic, anaerobic and facultative with regard to the way in which they utilize oxygen. While activated sludge systems, trickling filters and aerated lagoons can be used as aerobic treatment methods, anaerobic digestion is an anaerobic treatment method. Wastewater may need further treatment for removal of nutrients.

Fishery and Fish Farm Company Wastewater Treatment (Lezita)

We have established 2 wastewater treatment plants for Lezita Fish Processing company in Turkey. One of them is located in Urla / Izmir and second one is located in Cine /Aydin. Both wastewater treatment plants are designed and built according to the needs and waste production amount of fish processing company. We plan, design and manufacture both plants and provide environmental consultancy services
